geazy releases statement on recent arrest

G-Eazy avoids jail time for drug and assault charges.

Last week, G-Eazy was detained for assaulting a Solidaritet nightclub security guard and drug possession. When police arrived, they discovered 1.5 ounces of cocaine and a rolled up 100 hundred dollar bill in the “No limit” rappers pocket.

Ultimately, G-Eazy was taken to jail, where he stayed for 24 hours before appearing in front of a judge. In court, he pleaded guilty to the charges and was released from custody. G-Eazy has to pay a $9,000 fine, and a monetary settlement to the victim.

Originally, prosecutors suggested a 2 month jail sentence, but G-Eazy’s lawyer, Mikael Westerlund, noted that his client fully cooperated with the investigation – admitting to purchasing and using cocaine, as well as assaulting the bouncer.

“G-Eazy was very remorseful and regretted the whole thing. He was clearly feeling terrible – he said he wanted to apologize several times. He has a clean record and the courthouse in Stockholm took that into consideration.”

On Sunday, G-Eazy released the following statement via Instagram, where he expressed how remorseful he was feeling about his recent arrest, “Grateful & blessed to be free & safe. Happy to be in Copenhagen tonight doing what I love most.”

“Embarrassed & apologetic beyond words about the incident, but above all I’m so fucking grateful they let me go, craziest experience of my life, awful night with a lot of bad luck and some even worse decisions but like I said I’m grateful as fuck to be a free man, back on tour performing for the fans. Thank you to everyone who’s held me down along the way and supported this journey, I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. Love.”
