Funk Flex slams Cardi B.
Last week, Lil Yachty dropped off a new track titled “Who Want The Smoke?” featuring Cardi B and Offset. On the new song, Cardi declared herself the “King Of New York”, which seemed to cause quite a stir.
Via Twitter, Funk Flex was quick to voice his opinion – as usual, “Hahaha! A below average rapper that doesn’t write could never be King or Queen of NY! #JustMyOpinion BIGGIE/JAYZ/NAS BUILT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THAT TITLE!”
After catching wind of Flex’s comments, Cardi clapped back in a now deleted comment, “How a pregnant bitch got a old ass nigga soo press… I just said that on the song cause it rhymed and flow the same way niggas be rapping about cars and money they don’t got… But niggas will come at a bitch that’s pregnant and not come at Tekashi that will run up on him 100 deep! Pathetic.”
In an Instagram video, the “Be Careful” rapper went on to further explain why she used the line on her verse, “I know street niggas and street bitches that feel like they’re the King and Queens of New York.”
“Why can’t I feel like I’m the King of New York? Every time I go to my city, people cheer me on and show so much support and it has nothing to do with this rapping. I’ve been packing out clubs even when I was a stripper.”
“I go to my hood and I’m comfortable, a bitch is rich an famous and I’ll still go to the projects and show love. There are niggas that can’t even go back to their hood. I love my city. Let me a king. Why can’t I be a motherf**king king?”
