Fetty Wap Arrested On Federal Drug Charges

by Yellah Bone

Just moments shy of a comeback, Fetty Wap finds himself behind bars. On Thursday, the 30-year-old “My Way” rapper was arrested before taking the stage for his set at Rolling Loud. Fetty, along with 5 other individuals, has been indicted on a drug trafficking conspiracy charge.

According to federal prosecutors, Fetty Wap and the men distributed more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine across Long Island and New Jersey between June 2019 and June 2020. Apparently, the drugs were first obtained on the West Coast using U.S. Postal Service and cars with hidden compartments to smuggle them East.

United States Attorney Breon Peace advised that he will be working “nonstop with our law enforcement partners to keep our neighborhoods safe from the scourge of dangerous.”

On Friday, Fetty’s lawyer, Navarro Gray, told TMZ, “We pray that this is all a big misunderstanding. He sees the judge today. Hoping he gets released so we can clear things up expeditiously.” If convicted, he is facing life in prison.

This unfortunate news arrives only 4 months after the passing of Fetty’s 4-year-old daughter, Lauren. Sadly enough, tragedy first struck Fetty’s family when his 26-year-old younger brother, Twyshon Depew, was shot and killed in 2020.
