Only one day after revealing he has “something big” in the works with Drake, Fetty Wap makes an announcement that all of his fans have been waiting for. On September 25, Fetty will release his debut studio album. Fetty stated, I’m just waiting for it to get mixed and mastered. My album been done for like two months now.” Fetty is one of the few artist who has achieved such a great amount of success without even releasing an album.

The New Jersey rapper’s songs “679”, “My Way”, and “Trap Queen” are all currently residing in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. 300 Entertainment music executive Lyor Cohen was in no rush to get Fetty’s project on shelves, he felt that timing was a key aspect in releasing it to the world. Cohen stated, “Our industry is lacking on a wholesale level of artist development…and we feel that [Wap is] just so brilliant and has developed this new style, new sound.” I’ve been wondering what was taking Fetty so long to release an album, but now I see the reasoning behind it. Smart move.

Fetty is currently on tour for Chris Brown’s “One Hell Of A Night Tour”.
