Fat Joe’s former business partner is heading to prison.

In 2016, Fat Joe and his business partner, Scott “Kickz” Spina, opened a high end sneaker store in New Jersey. Since the store’s launch, Joe and Spina built up an impressive clientele – including pro athletes and musicians such as DJ Khaled, Jim Jones, and others.

Unfortunately, the store has since faced allegations of credit card fraud. According to the New York Post, Spina was defrauding customers and stealing their credit card information.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Spina was facing up to twenty years in prison, however, he was recently sentenced to almost three years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of wire fraud in a Newark federal court.

The US Attorney’s Office reports that Spina used credit card information provided by his customers to make personal purchases without their knowledge. To make matters worse, he even contacted his credit card company and falsely claimed that numerous purchases on his account were fraudulent.

Spina admitted that he obtained or sought to obtain more than $550,000 in cash or goods. Therefore, in addition to spending thirty five months in prison, Spina also received three years of supervised release. The judge has also ordered him to pay $516,396.33 in restitution.

Fat Joe has yet to release a statement on the matter.
