For years trolls have made celebrities their number one target for death hoaxes. Several famous musicians such as Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga have all fallen victim to stories claiming they had died in a car accident, an overdose, or in their sleep. If you’ve been on social media the past few days I’m sure you’ve seen the hashtags #RIPDrake and #PrayForDrake. A “R.I.P. Drake” Facebook page has also been started and has raked in close to one million likes.

A post uploaded onto Buzzfeed reads, “Los Angeles, California—On early November 22, 2015, the rapper known as Drake to his fans and Aubrey Drake Graham to his loved ones passed away in a fatal car accident. A reckless driver whose name has not yet been released to the public and is alleged to have been driving under the influence crossed the median early Sunday morning and crashed head on into the rapper’s Lamborghini Gallardo, crushing the car and everyone inside. An unidentified female is also alleged to have been in the passenger seat. Graham was taken to the emergency room but was unable to be resuscitated. The female victim was declared dead at the scene.”

The post has since been deleted.

So it is true? Did Drake really die in a car accident? Fans flooded Drake’s Instagram photos with comments such as, “RIP Drake” and “Is he really dead?”. Luckily, as many suspected, the 29 year old Canadian star is very much alive. His rep confirmed this on Sunday stating, “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet.” So all you die hard Drizzy fans can relax and get your panties out of a bunch. Like it or not, Drake will be running through the 6 for years to come.
