Back in July, DMX, born Earl Simmons, was sentenced to six months in Erie County Holding Center in Buffalo, New York for failing to pay child support. Allegedly, the 44 year old “Where The Hood At?” rapper owes more than $400,000 in back child support. Luckily, for DMX, he was granted a early release.
His attorney, Dominic Candino, was able to convince the judge that he was never made aware of the child support payments. If the judge buys the story, X won’t have to serve the rest of his sentence. However, things could go from bad to worse if the judge determines that he intentionally didn’t pay the child support.
Upon his release, DMX was happily greeted by family and friends. He is scheduled to appear in court soon.
His son Xavier recently made headlines for selling his father’s platinum plaques for And Then There Was Blood and Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood on eBay.
