Early Monday morning Detroit rapper Dex Osama, 26, was shot outside of the Crazy Horse gentleman’s club in the 8100 block of Michigan Avenue. Around 2 a.m., a fight broke out between two groups of men inside of the establishment that soon ended up outside where shots rang out, injuring Osama and two others. After being shot, Osama reportedly ran to a nearby gas station where he collapsed and asked the attendant to call 911. Shortly after, he was pronounced dead at Detroit Reading Hospital. Crazy Horse owner Freddy Abdallah stated, “Unfortunately Detroit is a high-crime city, they all have guns, so I can’t control what happens after they leave. Does it upset me that it’s going on? Of course it does.”

When news broke that Osama had been killed, a number of artists took to social media to express their condolences. Meek Mill posted a photo of him and the late rapper with the caption, “Damn RIP YOUNGIN….. Had a lot of talks with you about getting out them streets and chasing ya dreams! DeJ Loaf also posted a photo of her and Osama with the caption, “He had the whole package. As Soon as heard a small snippet of his music I knew he was IT and wanted to hear/see more! Just Different, u know! I know a star when I see one! I figured the world needed to hear u! If I knew the other day was gonna be our last time talking I would’ve said way more!
