It’s no secret that Desiigner’s breakthrough single “Panda” deserves an award for hottest trap song of the year. But what you didn’t know, is that the 18 year old Brooklyn rapper purchased the beat for only $200 back in 2014. The genius behind the production is 22 year old Manchester native Adnan Khan, aka Menace. Khan is a mobile phone shop assistant who never guessed in a million years that a sample of his work would end up on Kanye West’s song, “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2”, which is featured on The Life Of Pablo.

During a interview with ITV Report, Khan revealed that he has been making music since he was 12 stating, “I started taking it more seriously about two years ago. I realized I could make money from it and benefit from it. I started selling beats on my website. It stopped being a hobby, but I do still enjoy it.”

When asked how he felt about being on West’s album, he told Genius.com, “This is the big break I was waiting for, my stepping stone. I’m in the house right now and obviously there are rooms there, but I have still to come into the rooms. Now the real work starts. But Desiigner—he’s dope. We’re thinking about doing another track very soon when he releases his full album. I’d love to work with him again. How Metro is to Future, London is to Young Thug, and Menace is to Desiigner.”
