Today as we celebrate Mother’s Day we want to acknowledge those leading ladies that held down the household, the ones who made sure they encouraged, and provided love and support, the ones that instilled wisdom and greatness in their children lives, the matriarch, the one and only “mama”.

Going all the way back to 1993 with Tupac “Keep Ya Head Up” record, he righteously praised his mother declaring “And I realize momma really paid the price. She nearly gave her life to raise me right“, a quote that still rings in the ears of many in our generation today who only have had their mother’s in their lives. We salute Tupac and Afeni Shakur.

Kanye West is another Hip Hop artist who expresses his ongoing love for his mother Donda West, who unfortunately passed on November 10, 2007. His lyrics on his track “Hey Mama” stated “I appreciate what you allowed for me I just want you to be proud of me“. We can ensure that Donda is smiling down on Ye and his family as he continues to build his legacy.

So we salute all the mothers who have made an impact on the many hip hop artist we vibe and listen today. Thank you ladies!

Check out the photos below of some artists posted with their mothers below. Happy Mother’s Day!!!!
