Day N Vegas

The inaugural Day N Vegas  Festival turned Sin City upside down for a weekend riddled with captivating performances and an unmatched festive experience unlike no other.

Goldenvoice Productions set the internet ablaze with the unveiling of the official flyer listing for Day N Vegas earlier this year – featuring an assorted variation of charting artists that typify musical distinction amongst their like-minded counterparts.

This past weekend was filled with J.Cole’s unveiling of his forthcoming studio album set to release in 2020 titled ‘The Fall Off’, special guest appearances and a rare sighting of Kendrick “Kung Fu Kenny” Lamar. Needless to say, anticipation peaked at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds once attendees wristbands illuminated green to grant access through the security checkpoint. You could literally feel the energy shift with excitement as everyone under the sound of music scavenged whatever space was available to witness their favorite acts put on a show.

Day 1 performances encompassed a broad range of artists that compliment the aesthetic associated with modern day innovation as it relates to music. Performances included Lil Uzi Vert, Juice Wrld, Miguel, Summer Walker, 6lack and others, with a headlining set from Dreamville’s eclectic lyrical wunderkind J.Cole. There was never a dull moment transitioning between acts, as each artists was sure to remain diligent in there efforts to galvanize the momentum required to ignite the crowd.

Day 2 covered an array of influences within mainstream media that pervade the airwaves of any traditional music enthusiast. Although Travis Scott surfaced a tweet via Twitter to indicate his absence in the form of a heartfelt “…I promise to be back soon on gang” statement, the party never ends – especially when you leverage the situation with powerhouse acts like Future, Young Thug, Playboi Carti and Trippie Redd. Ragers and leaders of the mosh pit united in an effort to rewrite the narrative on what it truly means to come together for a greater cause. Whether it was DaBaby’s impressive plummet into the crowd or 21 Savage’s dazzling theatrical display in the background throughout his set, Saturday’s energy was profoundly zestful and thrilling.

Day 3 was nothing short of bitter sweet in knowing that the weekend was over but the idea that K-Dot would be resurfacing after a well-deserved hiatus to bless the stage was comforting enough. Outside of the diverse range of inclusive vibes captured through illustrative performances from Doja Cat, G-Herbo, Kali Uchis, Schoolboy Q, Brockhampton and Ski Mask The Slump God to name a few – nothing incarnated artist appreciation more than the influx of blonde bowl-cut wigs and turquoise 2-piece ensembles to emulate Tyler The Creator’s ‘Igor’ persona. The level of devout appreciation for Tyler’s creative genius was so impressive to the point that he eventually welcomed a fan on-stage for a candid photo-op.

Overall, Day N Vegas was a uniform embodiment of festive merriment with a refined stance taken on mass appeal. The logistics behind coordinating a lineup of this stature is quite commendable and irrefutably impressive in short. In truth, the only downfall was the proximity from each stage (Hunnid, Roll The Dice, Jackpot) – every step was calculated and precise in making a daring attempt to not become engulfed by the massive turnout of attentive participants.

Can’t wait to see what next year’s endeavors entail.
