Consequence Reveals Lupus Diagnosis

by Yellah Bone

Earlier this week, Consequence decided to come clean and address the serious medical conditions that he has been dealing with. On Monday, during a Zoom listening session for his new EP, Things Are Different Now, Consequence revealed he was diagnosed with lupus back in June after initially believing he had contracted COVID-19. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation and pain in any part of your body.

After setting an urgent appointment with his primary care physician, he was prescribed muscle relaxants – which ultimately made things worse and led to inflammation throughout Consequence’s whole body.

The rapper stated, “I was already Type II diabetic with no diabetes symptoms. I was subject to anything autoimmune-related. I went to Paris — don’t want this to sound like rich n*gga problems because I almost died — but I’m flying from one jet from Los Angeles to Paris and Paris to Los Angeles, and I get to L.A. and I can’t f*cking move. So I go to urgent care — and this is when COVID was first shaking — so I was was like, ‘F*ck, maybe I got COVID.'”

Consequence quarantined for a few weeks, hoping his symptoms would go away. When his health didn’t improve, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West stepped in set him up with an urgent care facility in uptown Manhattan.

After running running a few tests, doctors confirmed Consequence was suffering from lupus, “All my cells were on fire and that’s why I couldn’t move and shit. I was fucked up, never in my life f*cked up like this. But God’s will is God’s will. Eventually, it was discovered what it was. Literally, I’m so f*cking crazy I flew to Wyoming at 107 pounds.”

Kudos to Kimye for helping Consequence get his health back on track!
