Chris Brown has placed himself in some very unlawful monkey business.
Originally obtained by TMZ, legal notices have indicated that Chris is currently facing two counts of not having a permit while owning a restricted species. Chris could be facing a maximum sentence of 6 months in jail.
Last December, monkey drama occurred the “Back to Sleep” crooner after posted a video clip on his Instagram of his then 3-year-old daughter, Royalty, playing with the exotic animal. Immediately, some users blasted Chris for allowing his child to interact with the potentially dangerous creature.
Back in January, an investigation was launched by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Upon completion of the investigation it turned out the Grammy Award winner DID NOT even have a permit to own the monkey.
The authorities had plans to nab a search warrant to raid Chris’ home, but he voluntarily agreed to surrender the exotic animal.
Chris is supposed to appear in court on February 6th, 2019.
