Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., Chicago rapper King Louie, born Louis Johnson, was shot in the head while sitting in his vehicle in the 3900 block of West 83rd Street and Pulaski Road. He was taken to Oak Lawn’s Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition.

A representative from Louie’s team confirmed that he was “awake and talking”. It seems as though Louie may not have been too critically injured, which is great news for the father of three. Shortly after the shooting, a photo was of King Louie and his three children was posted onto his Instagram page with a caption reading, “As long as I’m living these 3 🐛’$ $traight #MyKids #👁AmMyBrothersKeeper.”

Louie is credited for originating the terms “Chiraq” and “Drillinois” which coincides with the trap Hip-Hop sub-genre “Drill”. Drill music is prevalent in Chicago, and popularized by artists like Chief Keef and Lil Reese.

Well wishes to King Louie! Stayed tuned for updates…
