Chance The Rapper To Host ‘Punk’d’ Reboot

by Yellah Bone

Chance The Rapper is coming to television!

Anybody and everybody who tunes into MTV knows that Punk’d was one of network’s most entertaining shows. Running from 2003-2007, the original Punk’d was hosted by co-creator Ashton Kutcher, who spent his time pranking a number of celebrities including Kanye West, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Hilary Duff, and many more. The show was revived in 2012, and then again in 2015, which proved to be its 10th and final season.

This time around, Chance The Rapper has teamed up with MTV Studios, Quibi (short for “quick bites”), and executive producer, Jason Goldberg, to host the new reboot.

Quibi, the very first entertainment platform designed specifically for your phone, will launch on April 6, 2020. During a press release, Chano stated, “Punk’d is one of MTV’s most iconic franchises. I grew up watching this show and it’s surreal to be in the driver’s seat this time around on Quibi.”

The new season of Punk’d will consist of 20 episodes, each one averaging under 10 minutes. Megan Thee Stallion will serve as the shows first target.

After hearing that there would be a Punk’d reboot, Kutcher took to Twitter to get a few things off his chest, “I have nothing to do with the new punk’d situation. Hope they get it right.”
