Cardi B’s little sister, Hennessy Carolina, comes to her defense.
After months of speculation, Cardi B finally came clean and revealed that she was pregnant during her debut on Saturday Night Live. While many fans were extremely happy for the first-time mother and Offset, there were many Negative Nancy’s who slammed Cardi and suggested that her career would now come to a halt.
During a recent interview with People, Cardi’s little sister, Hennessy Carolina, expressed how disappointed she was to see people criticizing her sister’s pregnancy, “Why is anyone saying anything so mean to someone? A baby is a blessing. Why would you talk about it like it’s a bad thing?”
“My sister is such a good person, I wouldn’t want nobody to talk bad about her. It really hurts. But I’m not gonna let them stress me out anymore. I’m tired of it!” Carolina added, “I know she’s happy. No more people talking about her,” Carolina added. “I know she’s happy and she’s free. She can go out and eat food, not hide what she wants to wear.”
After Cardi B broke the news to her fans, she also took the time to address all of the negativity surrounding her pregnancy, “It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘Oh, I feel sorry for you, your career is over,’ and it’s like, ‘Why can’t I have both? Why do I have to choose a career or a baby?”
“I have to prove [to] people that a baby won’t stop me … I just wish that I had a little bit more time for me to think for me. I didn’t like that people [were] harassing me. I had a whole bunch of friends calling me like, ‘Why did I have to find out [about your pregnancy] on the internet?’ … It’s something so precious and private to me, and I didn’t even get to keep that for myself.”
