The Notorious B.I.G.’s legacy will live forever.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.’s death. On March 9, 1997, Biggie was shot and killed in Los Angeles, California. To this day, the case remains unsolved.

Although Biggie may not physically be here with us, his legacy will never be forgotten. As a child, Biggie bagged groceries at Brooklyn’s Met Food Supermarket – so the owner felt it was only right to honor Big today with limited edition grocery bags.

Jed Heuer and his wife, Jennifer came up with the Biggie bag idea, and have lived in the area since 2000. There are 100 bags available, that will be sold on a first come first serve basis at Key Food (the store that replaced Met Food at 991 Fulton Street). Each customer will only be allowed one bag.

Jed told HipHopDX, “This project is about paying respect to a legendary artist and sharing a piece of neighborhood history.”

Additionally information about the Biggie Bags can be found here.
