Rest in peace Young Greatness.

Early this morning at approximately 1:35 a.m., Young Greatness, born Theodore Jones, was shot and killed in the 2900 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.

According to New Orleans’ local news station, Greatness was murdered outside of a Waffle House, where he was pronounced dead on the scene at only 34 years old. Authorities are looking for two suspects, who also stole Greatness’ vehicle after murdering him.

Greatness’ mother, Jeanine Rose, spoke with New Orleans’ WDSU this morning, and confirmed her son’s death, “I can’t stand that place. They can have it with their politics and potholes. It’s too many mothers taking slow walks to sad tombs while they sit at home and play politics with people’s life and people living.”

Young Greatness, who was signed to Quality Control Music, broke onto the scene with his 2015 hit single “Moolah.” The record made it to the Billboard Hot 100.
