[BREAKING] Kobe Bryant And Daughter Die In Helicopter Crash

by Yellah Bone

Kobe Bryant’s legacy will never be forgotten.

Around 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning, NBA legend, Kobe Bryant, 41, and his 13 year old daughter, Gianna Maria-Onore, were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, was not one of the passengers.

Kobe and Gigi were heading to Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks for basketball practice when the accident occurred. Officials have confirmed that 9 people were on board in total – including the pilot, Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, Altobelli’s daughter Alyssa, as well as his wife Keri. The Los Angeles County sheriff, Alex Villanueva, confirmed there were no survivors.

At this time, it is unclear as to what caused the crash, but an investigation is being conducted. TMZ has reported that foggy weather conditions may have played a role in the accident. Eyewitnesses claim they heard an engine sputter before the helicopter went down.

Investigators from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner (DMEC) are “recovering bodies of the people who died.” In addition, a spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Bureau stated their investigators were looking at the “history of pilots and whatever crew was on board, maintenance of helicopter and records of owner and operator.”

Bryant, who retired in 2016, was a first-round pick in the 1996 draft, who won 5 NBA championships, 2 NBA Finals MVPs, and was the league MVP in 2008. He is survived by Vanessa, 37, daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months.
