After spending six weeks in jail over gun charges, Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda, real name Ackquille Jean Pollard posted $2 million dollar bail. The city has 72 hours to review the bail package which was arranged by bail bondsman Ira Judelson. Judelson is known for his high-profile clients including Ja Rule and DMX.
Pollard’s lawyer Kenneth Montgomery stated, “If the city is playing fair, there will be no need for a hearing.” The Hot Boy rapper was arrested on December 17, 2014 with a dozen members of his GS9 crew.
During Pollard’s arraignment, Special Narcotics Prosecutor Nigel Farinha stated, “Ackquille is the driving force behind the GS9 gang. He is also a violent enforcer of the gang’s activity. He’s a drug dealer, and a prolific one at that.”
He is expected to be released as early as Monday, February 2nd.
