There have been a number of updates regarding Bobby Shmurda’s case over the past few months, but none of them have been good. His bail has been denied seven times, and his trial date was recently pushed back. Shmurda has been behind bars since December 2014 on a number of drug and gun charges.

Yesterday, the GS9 ringleader called into ThisIs50.com for an exclusive interview where he opened up about his legal troubles and much more. When asked about his case, the Brooklyn rapper claims he is an innocent man whose rights have been violated, “They ain’t trying to give me the deal because they know if I come home, I’ma beat this, so right now, they trying to hold me in here as long as possible.

So, they’re trying to hold me in for like three or four years. And then try to give me time served or something but they don’t got nothing on me. I’m not even supposed to still be here. I got several lawyers maintaining my case that’s saying that the bail is supposed to be dropped and these charges are supposed to be dropped. The bail is not even supposed to be high due to the Emory Law Book. But they violating my constitutional rights. They violating my civil rights that they are just flushing it down the toilet for they own political reasons.”

Despite rumors, Shmurda says he has no issues with 50 Cent, “50’s cool. I don’t do the rap beef, Shmurda reports. “Everybody that know Bobby know I don’t do the rap beef. I don’t got time for all that. First of all, I’m in jail. How I’ma beef with someone when I’m in jail? I don’t even do the rap beef. That’s not my character…50 cool. 50 ain’t never disrespect me.”

Last year pharmaceutical millionaire Martin Shkreli announced that he would be bailing Shmurda out of prison before running into his own legal troubles. When asked if he’s ever spoken with Shkreli, Shmurda stated, “I didn’t get to get in contact with him. I wish I could. I heard what happened to him. That was crazy, the whole situation is crazy. I think they did that shit for no reason, really. Because all this time he was out and now he was talking about us and all of a sudden he got locked. That shit is crazy. I hope he works it all out and I hope he beats his case.”
