Blxst Leaves No Stone Unturned In His Search For Closure With ‘No Love Lost’

Blxst - No Love Lost

No Love Lost is a passion project on wax. Blxst – one of LA’s acclaimed talents on the rise – has released his highly anticipated debut EP, and no stone is left unturned. Divulging into a range of mixed feelings that are both revealing and emotive, the 8 track project covers detailed accounts of past dealings, depleted love, and broken friendships. “This is my debut EP. I put it together in inspiration of me just growing as an artist in LA,” Blxst shares. “Me finding my own path far as dealing with friends. Falling out with friends over disloyalty. Complications in my love life — just different challenges that I’ve been facing,” he continues. In terms of aphorisms, it seems like what doesn’t kill you gives you something to talk about, and No Love Lost is riddled with conversation starters.

Paired with a four-part cinematic series of videos to bring the project’s narrative to life, No Love Lost is like having that tough conversation with a longtime friend over a cup of coffee — a bittersweet, yet gratifying feeling. The anxieties behind delivering bad news leaves a pungent taste — almost for a moment — but the warmth that ensues after the first sip is comforting, a quick fix. The power of music derives from its ability to stir emotion, encapsulating a moment in time through synthesized beat patterns and a palpable sense of introspection. It also doesn’t hurt to be vulnerable with you art, let the people know how you truly feel — or as Blxst avows, “I feel like we’re missing that thing where it’s cool to express yourself in a vulnerable way.”

With a medley of noteworthy production credits and collaborations under his belt, Blxst has made significant headway as a creative throughout his career — logging sessions with the likes of Eric Bellinger, Kendrick Lamar, YG, G Perico, Kalan.FrFr and more. All good things must come to an end, but nothing happens overnight, not even disloyalty. West Coast synths, high-energy production and raw emotion, No Love Lost is the pinnacle of tapping into your truth and living your life aloud, with no remorse.

In the season of deluxe releases, hopefully No Love Lost is primed to follow this trend, because 19 minutes just isn’t enough. Until then, catch a vibe and ‘Gang Slide’ to the LA crooner’s rhythmic EP debut below, released via Red Bull Records.
