Despite recent rumors surfacing online earlier this week, Philadelphia native and rapper Beanie Sigel, real name Dwight Grant, 40, is NOT dead. God is good. On December 5th, the rapper who is well known for his hit Feel It in the Air was shot in the abdomen at his brother-in-law’s home in Pleasantville at 9:30 A.M. The bullet exited Sigel’s back. Following the shooting Sigel was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City where he was listed in critical condition. Sigel was awake following surgery later that day.
Until recently, Sigel has been unable to speak he was breathing with the aid of a tube and ventilator. Sigel’s family has been uncooperative with the police, and has asked hospital officials not to release any updated information on the rapper’s condition. Hmmm.
Unfortunately, the police have made no arrests and the shooter is still at large. Pleasantville police Captian Sean Riggin interviewed Sigel Christmas Eve, but declined to say what was discussed. The interview was the first time detective had spoken to Sigel since the shooting occurred.
Sigel was scheduled to perform on December 18th at a concert titled “Beanie Sigel: The Return” at Philadelphia’s Theater of the Living Arts.
The staff at Inyaearhiphop wishes Sigel a speedy recovery!
