Autnmy Records Recording Artist Teddy Drops Debut, Self-Titled Album “TEDDY”

by Derrius Edwards

Rising artist Teddy has finally released his debut full-length studio project entitled TEDDY.

After previewing a mere glimpse into the multifaceted world that Teddy’s personas reside in with releasing the visual for Intro (Castle Life)’ earlier this month, Prince Tedward is here to share the wealth and infectious vibes with his core fan-base and new listeners.

“As kids, we’re so beautifully unaware of ourselves, which creates a perfect storm of creation and destruction that I think every artist hopes to achieve in their own way. As I’ve grown, I’ve felt the pressure to become more self-aware and explore my subconscious to gain a better understanding of myself and my surroundings. The intro for my project is a physical abstraction of this idea of self-discovery by watching how I orchestrated myself and my surroundings as a kid and seeing how I’ve changed and even ways I haven’t. So yea, the birth of Prince Tedward is complete.” – Teddy

Self-reflection derives from the innate ability to dissect former experiences and culminate a new understanding on what someone truly desires, and in essence this very act enables an individual to tap into their full potential.

TEDDY is just the beginning of self-discovery, serving as an ode to the truth that lies within the creative styling of the Autnmy Records recording artist.

The 10 track album is a melting pot of diverse acoustic references that incorporate elements of rock and alternative-rap.

As referenced in the track Spine, “I’m falling for your love again, f****d up a couple friends/But I made it back in time, she wanna break my spine”, it’s apparent that Teddy has been subjected to dealing with the repercussions associated with past mistakes, but fortunately his cognizance played an integral role in the maturation process of moving forward.

Cold World is well-versed in expressing the sentiments conveyed from the feeling of resentment that manifest as a byproduct of an endured pain. Broken Dreaming channels a drug-induced escape from reality and the issues that may arise with battling internal conflicts over a set amount of time. It’s admirable to witness Teddy’s vulnerability in laying his heart on the subtle 808 that pervades the background.

Interlude (Rainbows) revamps the conventional understanding of what stems from weathering the storm, serving as a reminder that in order to love others you must first love yourself.

Brand New finds Teddy’s newly acquired nonchalant demeanor taking ownership of what would have been and replacing it with what is, emphasizing the importance of never getting complacent or too comfortable.

Tempt Fate snags a feature from Nat Dunn and the two artists are sure to profess their shared disdain for traveling down the same road of repeated patterns, leading to an assured untimely demise. Crying Love is actually the opposite of the inferred title. This track is almost indicative of Teddy’s desire to pursue love again after past shortcomings. Catch Me is a vocal acknowledgement of an experienced love overdose that results in Teddy falling victim to the endless cycle of searching for a reciprocated energy that just might not be there at the moment.

Down These Hills (Outro) is “tying up the loose ends” as it relates to conceptualizing the overall message of what it means to be guarded after experiencing trial and error with love.

Overall, this is quite a significant testament to Teddy’s dynamic ability to be vulnerable, yet straightforward with his past experiences. This project is telling of what we can anticipate moving forward from Teddy, nothing but pure, unadulterated expressive lyrics that will cause his audience to think before you love.
