A senseless act of violence has struck another member of the Hip Hop community. Last night, up-and-coming rapper Bankroll Fresh, born Trentavious White, 28, was shot outside of Street Execs Studio, which is partially owned by 2 Chainz. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
At the scene, police told local news media that they found 50 shell casings. Details are scarce, but an homicide investigation in underway in northeast Atlanta, Georgia. Lt. Charles Hampton of the Atlanta Police Department revealed that no one else was fatally shot or injured. At this time, there have been no arrests, and the motive of the shooting remains unknown.
Bankroll Fresh began rapping in 2007, and never turned back since. Over the years, he has collaborated with Gucci Mane, Travis Porter, Zaytoven, Future, Mike Will Made It, Metro Boomin, and been praised by artists including Earl Sweatshirt and Erykah Badu.
In January, Bankroll sat down for an interview with The Fader and described his life in 2007 stating, “I was in the streets, running around. I was hustling. But I also was going to the studio because I had seen the bigger picture. I knew I wasn’t gonna be able to make millions just running around in the streets because first of all your name will get too hot, they’ll try to knock you off.
Or, I’ll get too piped up, a nigga might try to rob me. I shoot him, he shoot me. That’s just how this sh*t goes in Atlanta this sh*t real, for real. And motherfuckers don’t know it because they be so caught up in the “Okay, well, Atlanta. The music. The glamor. They ball. The strip club.” They don’t know. I done seen this city swallow motherf*ckers.”
