Tyrese reportedly owes American Express tens of thousands of dollars.
Last year, Tyrese and his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, were involved in a tumultuous custody battle over their daughter, Shayla. After a public meltdown and many sleepless nights, Tyrese was granted half custody of Shayla, and everything else seemed to fall in place.
Unfortunately, the “Sweet Lady” singer is not in the clear just yet. According to TMZ, Tyrese has failed to meet some of his financial obligations, now American Express is suing him for an unpaid balance of $61,071.35.
Court documents have revealed that the last payment Tyrese made to the credit card company was for $10,000 in April. His balance was over $71,000 at the time.
During his custody battle, Tyrese admitted that he was struggling financially, and only making $105,686 a month, with his monthly expenses totaling $107,576. It was aldo noted that Tyrese had close to $1 million in savings in the bank.
