Pop Smoke Documentary In The Works

by Yellah Bone

Pop Smoke is coming to the big screen!

Not long after Pop Smoke’s passing, it was revealed that a posthumous album was in the works – but now it appears that a documentary is on the way as well.

During a recent interview with Complex’s Eric Skelton, Steven Victor, who helped manage and develop Pop’s career, stated, “I’m working really, really hard on this Pop Smoke album. And I’m working on a documentary for him, too. And his foundation. I’m just really focused on making this label like the next Jimmy Iovine and Interscope.” Steven serves as the head of Victor Victor Worldwide record label.

Just two weeks before Pop Smoke’s untimely passing, he sat down with Ben Dandridge-Lemco and opened up about the upcoming project, “I’m gonna put out a movie or a documentary. I’m gonna make that shit about me. Walk ’em through where I used to live, where I used to be at, and why they look at me the way they look.”

“I’m gonna show you why they don’t like that—what they don’t like. Let’s see if you have the same feedback that they have. Let’s see if you would want me to be banned and want me to not perform. I doubt you will. All this good music being recorded, and you want to put it on hold? You don’t want people to hear it?”

The Meet The Woo rapper, 20, was shot and killed during an home invasion in Hollywood Hills, California on February 19th. The suspects are still at large.
