The rapper was released from an Immigration and Customs detention center on Wednesday after spending over a week in there. However, he could still be deported due to Donald Trump.
TMZ has reported that 21’s lawyers went to court on Tuesday and where they convinced a judge to allow the rapper to be released on bail. His visa application to stay in the U.S. will be processed. His case is will be very easy because he qualifies on all counts as he already has dependents in the country, no convictions, and he’s been in the U.S for over 10 years.
However, Trump changed previous immigration rules that were active under Bush and Obama. The new laws state that people who have a pending visa application still must leave and return to the country when there visa is approved.
ICE reportedly advised him that they would drop deportation proceedings if he voluntarily left the country. However, 21 passed on that offer and is currently fighting to stay.
