Ty Dolla $ign was thrown in the slammer yesterday.
On Wednesday, Ty Dolla $ign was arrested in Atlanta on drug charges. Apparently, while heading to a concert, the vehicle that the Free TC singer and six other passengers was traveling in was stopped in front of the Busy Bee Cafe near Martin Luther King Jr. in Downtown Atlanta. According to police, they smelled marijuana coming from van.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers found marijuana and cocaine. Ty was arrested and booked into Fulton County Jail on the following charges – possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, cocaine possession, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. It’s unclear why the other passengers inside of the van were released without charges.
Ty’s attorney, Drew Findling, released the following statement to Channel 2 Action News, “He had no drugs on his person at all. Apparently, there was a small amount of some drug found in the car and they let five people walk away. And they let the international superstar go into custody.” Ty was scheduled to perform at Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood Wednesday night.
This morning, Ty Dolla Sign posted $6,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear back in court on September 20th.
