Coke Boys rapper Chinx, born Lionel Pickens, 31, was shot and killed in his hometown of Queens, New York on May 17, 2015. Long before his untimely death, Chinx had a album in the works, and it’s nice to see that his team is working hard to keep his legacy alive and get his music heard.
His 12 track posthumous album Welcome To JFK is set to be released on August 14th, but is available for pre-order on iTunes now. Welcome To JFK will feature guest appearances from Stack Bundles, Ty Dolla $ign, Jeremih, Meet Sims, Lil Durk, Nipsey Hussle, Zack, and French Montana. Two singles have already been released, “Yay” and “How To Get Rich”. Last night, a listening session was held for Chinx’s debut album at the Stage 48 venue in New York City.
Chinx is survived by his wife Janelli Pickens and their 3 children.
