If your are a 2 Chainz fan I’m sure you’ve come across his line of ugly Christmas sweaters. The 38 year old Georgia native debuted the sweaters on November 20, which feature dabbing Santa Clauses and marijuana leafs instead of the traditional Santa Claus and Christmas tree. But before you chime in and disapprove the sweaters, you should know that the “I’m Different” rapper is donating much of the proceeds from the sweaters to charity that will help families in need.
To kick things off, 2 Chainz and teamed up with his TRU Foundation to lend a helping hand to a family in Palmetto, Georgia. 2 Chainz along with his children and a local camera crew from CBS 46 visited Deirdre Plater, a disabled veteran at her home. Chainz surprised Plater and her son Isaiah with new furniture as well as offering to pay her rent for a year. The hardworking single mom told CBS 46, “It’s hard to keep gas in the car, food in the house, and do everything by myself being a single parent. I am on a fixed income. I love to see stuff like this happen for other people, but I never thought it would happen to me.”
2 Chainz stated, “This season – well really, every season – I try to give back. I’ve been selling these really cool sweaters with Santa Claus doing the dab […] A lot of the proceeds, I feel like, should go to families in need. And not that y’all can’t get out the mud or do it yourself; because I was raised by a single parent home. I’m just here to help jump start everything.”
Additional proceeds from Chainz’ sweater line will help other families in need this season.
