Last year, 2 Chainz’ “Dabbin’ Santa” Christmas sweaters turned out to be a huge success, raking in $2 million, and as promised, the Atlanta rapper is using the profits to help families in need. Yesterday, 2 Chainz made headlines after he donated a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom to a family of 11 (including 2 sets of twins) through his TRU Foundation.
2 Chainz found out about the family after coming across a GoFundMe campaign that was created by Atlanta’s Progression Church after learning the family had been dealing with a financial hardship and was on the verge of being evicted. The family had been living in a tiny 2 bedroom home that was infested with rats, roaches, and mold. The husband and father of 9 is unable to work due to health issues.
The father stated, “We ain’t know where we was gonna go. We was not looking forward to nothing like this. It is way over our head, but we gonna learn how to deal with it. But we thank God for it. … Now we don’t have to cry no more. We don’t have to worry nothin no more.”
Chainz stated, “This right here ain’t gonna save me taxes. It’s in the beginning of the year. I’m looking forward to seeing their smiles. I’m looking forward to the kids growing up knowing that Uncle 2 Chainz came through. Keep praying. You gotta have faith. You gotta believe.”
This isn’t Chainz’ first time giving back to the community. He recently bought a mini-van for another family, as well as helping a disabled veteran by paying her rent for a year.
