Travis Scott Signs Smokepurpp To Cactus Jack Records, Drops New Song & Debut LP
Florida has once again had a great year of hot new artists breaking out mainstream, especially in Hip-Hop. This year alone we saw the rise of new acts like XXXTentacion, Lil Pump, and South Florida’s own Smokepurpp.
After already signing a deal back in March with Alamo Records, it now been announced that Smokepurpp is the newest signee to Travis Scott’s newly-established Cactus Jack Records, the first publicly announced act under Scott’s new roster.
News of the signing broke via Purpp’s Snapchat, showing a phone conversation between himself and Scott about him picking up his new Cactus Jack chain. Upon news of the signing, the rumored collaboration track between Scott and Purpp surfaced titled, “Fingers Blue.”
Known for his breakout hits, “Audi” and “Ski Mask”, over the weekend, Smokepurpp released his highly-anticipated debut album, Deadstar. The new album is a 16 track project filled with an all-star cast of acts supporting Purpp.
Smokepurpp’s catalog is already stacked with established collaborations including Juicy J, Riff Raff, and MadeinTYO.
