Lil Uzi Vert’s “Luv Is Rage 2” Goes Gold
Luv Is Rage 2 is moving numbers.
This past week has been phenomenal for Lil Uzi Vert, who has reached some major milestones in his career. To began with, last week, Uzi’s debut studio album, Luv Is Rage 2, was also certified gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) – after moving 500,000 equivalent album units. Luv Is Rage 2 debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
If that’s not enough, the album’s lead single, “XO Tour Llif3”, was certified 4x platinum yesterday by the RIAA. XO Tour Llif3 was released on August 25, but has already moved more than 4 million sales plus streaming units.
Although Uzi is grateful for his newfound success, he admits that he feels a lot of pressure from his fans. After nabbing the cover story for XXL’s 20th anniversary issue, Uzi sat down for an interview with XXL’s Editor-in-Chief, Vanessa Satten, where he discussed the high’s and low’s of fame, “People get mixed up. Fame isn’t bad at all. We all were put here for a purpose. You’re supposed to go out with a bang. You’re supposed to go out remembered. Everybody is important.”
Uzi added, “So, I mean, with the fame, what I really don’t like is, I always feel like I’m getting pressed. Pressed by my fans, that’s the only thing they don’t…You know how they don’t read body language? They don’t read what’s on your face, they don’t see none of that. All they see is you. All they see is my green hair or whatever color hair I got this month. That’s all they see…”
Congratulations Lil Uzi!
