Over the weekend, Gee Money was brutally gunned down.
Early Sunday morning, Baton Rouge rapper, Gee Money, born Garrett Burton, 22, was shot and killed. Gee was reportedly leaving a studio session when he was fatally shot in the head by an unknown gunman.
At 1:30 a.m., police found Gee in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Dallas Drive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following his death, the mother of Gee’s young daughter confirmed the saddening news via Instagram, “2nd Last picture we ever took mane god please get me and family threw all this I need yu god please. Best daddy ever we fuss and fight over stupid shit for nun but I love yu & I hope one day to see yu again how the family & kids gone do it with out yu. God please help us get threw it.”
No suspects have been taken into custody, and police have yet to find the motive behind the shooting.
Gee was recently involved in a feud with Youngboy NBA. Back in July, YoungBoy dropped a diss record aimed at Gee called “Make The News.” Gee later shot back at YoungBoy with his own diss record entitled “Industry.”
Over the course of the next few months, the two rappers continuously took shots at each other on social media. It’s unclear if YoungBoy had any involvement in Gee’s death.
The Baton Rouge Police Department is urging anyone with any information to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869, or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
