French Montana Donates $100,000 To Uganda’s Mama Hope Organization
French Montana wants to put an end to extreme poverty in Uganda.
Recently, French Montana and Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee took a trip to Uganda to film their “Unforgettable” music video, which featured some mind blowing choreography from a group of children there.
While there, Montana paid a visit to the Suubi Health Center, where he met with women and children – and witnessed first hand how poverty and inadequate healthcare affects their life. As a child, Montana’s family struggled financially, so he felt like it would only be right to help the situation.
With that being said, the “Pop That” has donated $100,000 to the Mama Hope Organization, which supports global entrepreneurship to help end extreme poverty.
Montana told Billboard, “I feel like sometimes God puts you in a platform where you’re supposed to help other people. That touched my heart when I went out there. I wanted to give them the shirt off my back and help as soon as possible.”
He added, “With having gone through living in poverty and being happy with nothing, they channel that through their dance moves and their energy. I feel like when you do stuff like that, the energy gives off of it itself. Us taking 30-hour trips over there, helping kids and using a platform that I got to showcase these kids talents from the dancing to the ambition to the hunger, I felt like everything came together.”
