Fetty Wap Reportedly Involved In Dispute That Led To Shooting
Fetty Wap was reportedly robbed.
It appears that Fetty Wap ran into a bit of trouble in his hometown of Patterson, New Jersey. Over the weekend, Fetty Wap and several of his friends were allegedly involved in a confrontation with a group of people that ultimately led to a shooting.
Allegedly, Fetty Wap was robbed of his signature “1738” chain, as well as some money that he had on him at the time – which sparked a shootout.
Around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, police officers were dispatched to a 24 hour deli on Montclair Avenue and Paxton Street after shots were fired.
Three people were injured during the incident – with one victim being shot in the leg, while the other suffered a gunshot wound to the torso. None of the injuries were reportedlylife-threatening.
Both victims were transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. The third victim was transferred into Hackensack University Medical Center. According to police, Fetty and his entourage are not suspects in the incident.
Paterson Deputy Police Chief Troy Oswald released the following statement to PEOPLE, “During a physical altercation inside the deli, a male victim was physically assaulted with a firearm. The altercation then spilled out onto the street, and shots were fired, during which three gunshot victims were struck.”
After wearing Fetty’s chain in a photo posted onto Instagram, Raheem Thomas, 36, was arrested at his home and booked on assault and a number of gun charges.
Thomas alleges that he was not the person who stole the chain. However, Thomas and Fetty have been feuding for some time now, reportedly over music deals.
A rep from Fetty’s camp has yet to address the shooting. An investigation has been launched.
