Drake To Take Break From Music To Re-Focus on Acting
Drake is planning a music hiatus.
Drake has had a continuous record-breaking music career since his debut in 2010. Buried under all the multi-platinum records and sold out tours is Drake’s original start in the entertainment business as the actor Aubrey Graham.
Well it looks like Drake is gonna take a vacation from music to the step into the movie business as he announced he will be re-focusing on his acting career.
Between releasing albums, Drake has tiptoed around acting by taking meetings with studios and even showed interest in starring in popular Toronto-based drama, Top Boy, however, he never fully committed to the set.
Last Wednesday, the 6 God took to Instagram to promote Top Boy’s new season on Netflix with a promotional photo. This quickly lead fans to believe that Drake will be making a promised starring role in the upcoming season.
While Top Boy ended back in 2013 after two seasons, Drake came on board as the show’s producer and revived the show with Netflix. Drake is also producing the feature documentary, The Carter Effect, which focuses on NBA star Vince Carter.
Drake touched on his upcoming music break in a recent interview, stating, “I’m sure I’ll stop [making music] one day. When it starts to feel like I’m making it up. Hopefully I’ll catch it before I ever get there, right? But right now it feels like we just started, so I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. But I do plan on expanding—to take six months or a year to myself and do some great films. Music’s always there.”
