CyHi The Prynce Says Kanye West Overpays People (Video)
According to CyHi The Prynce, Kanye West overpays people.
If you’ve contributed in any way to Kanye West’s creative process, just know you will be compensated for your time and effort. Last Friday, Ye’s longtime friend and collaborator, CyHi The Prynce, stopped by The Breakfast Club for an interview, where he dished on everything from his newly released album, Nope Dope On Sundays, to West’s over-the-top spending habits.
Apparently, West is more than generous when it comes to paying people for their contributions to his work, “I definitely got paid. Oh no, he overly pays. That’s an issue.”
CyHi recalled a time a man walked in wearing leather black jeans while West was in studio working on his Yeezus album, which inspired the following lyrics on “Black Skinhead”, “For my theme song/ My leather black jeans on / My by any means on.” Ye ended up paying the man for his “contribution.”
CyHi added, “If you’re delivering waters, if you’re the engineer, if you’re the cameraman, if he ask you one thing about this song, you’re name is on this record. All you got to do is be in the brainstorming. If you were in the brainstorm room, you get part of the record.”
No Dope On Sundays was released on November 17, with guest appearances from Kanye West, Pusha T, Schoolboy Q, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Jagged Edge, and more. His Kanye assisted track, “Dat Side” is featured on the album.
