Cardi B Reportedly Inks A Deal With Atlantic Records
Cardi B is reportedly Atlantic Records newest signee.
All of Cardi B’s hard work and dedication has finally paid off. According to The Jasmine Brand, the 24 year old Bronx beauty has reportedly signed a multi-million dollar deal with Atlantic Records and will be exiting Love and Hip Hop: New York to focus on her career.
A source told the site, “They believe in Cardi’s talent. She wants to focus on music and be taken serious. It’s hard for her to do that with all the drama she’s involved in on the show.” Cardi announced the news last night during an Instagram live stream, but Atlantic has yet to release a statement confirming the news.
Last year, Cardi spoke with VIBE Viva, and explained how serious she is about her craft, “Everything I do, I take seriously. Everything, everything, everything. Everything I do takes me time. I don’t want people to think I became a rapper because I was on Love and Hip Hop. There are a couple of songs that are on [Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1] that I been did before Love and Hip Hop, it just wasn’t completely perfect.”
“It wasn’t completely perfect and everything takes time. It took me like a year to complete the mixtape. Everything I do, it takes a lot of time for me to do it because only the best sells, you know? If you want people to take you seriously, you gotta do the best.”
The “Stripper Hoe” rapper recently dropped “Lick” featuring her rumored boyfriend Offset.
