Beyonce Wax Figure Temporarily Pulled From Madame Tussauds
Madame Tussauds is clearly unfamiliar as to what Beyonce looks like.
After getting criticized and viciously attacked on social media, Madame Tussauds has decided to temporarily remove the Beyonce wax figure from the floor at their Midtown Manhattan location.
According to fans, Bey’s wax figure was “whitewashed”, and looked nothing like the “Lemonade” singer. The wax figure also appeared to have a much lighter complexion than Beyonce’s, and resembled Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan.
Following the backlash, Madame Tussauds released the following statement, “At Madame Tussauds, our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted.”
“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures which is something our sculptors are unable to account for at the production stage.”
Today, Bey’s wax figure made it’s way back on display after a few alterations. Madame Tussauds released a followup statement, “We love, respect and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé. We have adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure and she is on display at Madame Tussauds New York.”
Hopefully, Madame Tussauds gets it right this time around!
